''Canis apolloniensis'' is an extinct species of Canidae which was endemic to Europe and lived during the Early Pleistocene epoch from 1.81 Mya—781,000 years ago, existing for approximately .〔(PaleoBiology Database: ''Canis apolloniensis, age range and collections )〕 ''Canis apolloniensis'' was a short-lived species in geologic time when compared to other ''Canis'' species.
